If you want to keep your employees safe and minimise the risk of your products being damaged by micro-pathogens, it's important to ensure that your facility is kept in a sanitary condition. Here are two easy ways to do this.

Invest in stainless steel balustrades and handrails

One simple way to maintain a sanitary work environment is to have stainless steel balustrades and handrails installed in your commercial space. In addition to being very robust, stainless steel is also one of the most hygienic materials you can use for a balustrade or handrail. This is largely down to the fact that it is impermeable; this means that it does not contain any microscopic nooks and crannies in which viruses and bacteria can hide. As a result of this, stainless steel is extremely easy to sanitise.

As such, if or when your employees run their bacteria-laden hands along the stainless steel balustrade or handrail and transfer micro-pathogens to these structures, it will be very easy for your facility's cleaning staff to remove these microscopic bacteria with just a few sprays of a disinfectant fluid.

Because of the material's lack of porosity, there is no risk of any harmful bacterial residue remaining on the surface after it has been cleaned and subsequently being transferred to another employee's hands.

Have your facility checked for signs of pest infestations on a regular basis

A rodent or cockroach infestation could turn your clean facility into an extremely unsanitary space. The excrement and urine they leave behind could not only put your staff members' health at risk but could also contaminate any consumable products your facility manufactures.

If your employees become ill as a result of working in an infested facility, they could choose to take legal action against you. Likewise, if your customers develop illnesses from consuming your pest-damaged products, they too may decide to sue.

Fortunately, you can easily avoid the hazards associated with a long-term pest infestation by having your entire commercial building checked for signs of infestations on a regular basis.

The more frequently you have these checks carried out, the less likely it is that you will ever have to deal with the negative professional and financial ramifications of a major infestation. If the pest control expert notices the faintest hint of a rat, mouse or cockroach, they will immediately take the appropriate measures to eliminate the pests before they inflict damage on your employees or your products.
